Succession Monitor 2019
Study on company successions of the years 2013 - 2018
The Association of German Guarantee Banks, Creditreform Rating and the Competence Center Entrepreneurship & Mittelstand of the FOM University of Aplied Sciences have evaluated successions from 2013 to 2018 for a scientific study. The study provides information on predecessors / successors, the companies before and after the transfer, and the transactions at the level of the federal states and economic sectors.
The download of Succession Monitor in English is available soon. Here you can download the pdf in German:
Doubling of the number of entrepreneurs at handover age by 2023
Drastic increase in demand for succession solutions expected in the new federal states
In September 2018, there were more than twice as many entrepreneurs in the new federal states who were 60 years old or older than those who were already 65 or older. Since it is already difficult for many entrepreneurs to find a successor, it can be assumed that this situation will continue to worsen significantly.
Who's behind?
The Succession Monitor is a cooperation project of the Association of German Guarantee Banks. (VDB), the Creditreform Rating AG and the KCE Competence Centre for Entrepreneurship & Small and Medium-sized Businesses of the FOM University of Applied Sciences for Economics & Management.
The majority of jobs in Germany depend on the success of handing over the business to the next generation.
